The Christian Herald ‘s Youth and College advisors, Nosa and Suzie Edebor, together with their team of family and friends have consistently put smiles on the faces of children in low income areas for the past ten years. Nosa and his merry band have held a Christmas party every year since 2004, and attendees must bring a brand new toys to gain admission. The toys are then gathered up and loaded into cars and trucks as the group hit the streets early on Christmas day and usually do not finish until late in the evening. For many of these children, these are the only presents they get, so it is not hard to understand why so many of the parents end up in tears as their children and grand children joyfully receive their gifts. This year’s bounty of goodies was more than any other year, and the team is already planning how to do even more to touch many more children next year!
When asked why they spend so much of their time doing this each year Nosa said ”it is more blessed to give than to receive. The happiness it brings is our gift to ourselves each year.”
